My natural eyelashes are pretty much a tragedy. After I got tired of applying regular cluster lashes, I decided to test DIY lash extensions. Especially, since I noticed they are very easy to apply after watching the reels on IG and TikTok. I decided to give them a try and see if they would also work so well for me. This type of lashes are available in starter kits along with the other products needed for applying them. I tested 5 of them, which one worked best? Here’s a ranking of 5 products from brands you’re sure to know. It includes a kit for styling eyelashes I fell in love with!
Lash extension starter kit – what motivated my choice?
DIY lash extensions are characterized by being applied underneath natural lashes. You can buy them in regular drugstores, but the choice is much wider online. For me, they are a complete innovation. I haven’t tried them until now. That’s why I thought I would create a ranking of eyelash extension kits for women who are total beginners in this field.
Choosing only 5 products was problematic for me, but I didn’t want to buy more than that in one go. Especially, since some came with a hefty price tag. I made the decision that I would test only the most popular products that I had already heard about. At the same time, my condition for being included in the ranking was that each starter kit for styling eyelashes should include an applicator, glue, and a protective product.
When I dug deeper into the subject, it turned out that some brands like Nanolash, include one more product in their kit. It is a remover. It facilitates removing the lashes safely and I can already tell you that it is worth having it.
Eyelash extension kit for beginners – ranking of 5 popular products
Every lash extension kit included in my ranking is suitable for beginners. In addition to the kit from Nanolash, I also tested the lashes from brands including Kiss, Lashify, Tatti Lashes, and Glamnetic. I paid attention to how many lashes were included, what else the kit contains, how long it takes to apply them, and the issue of durability. Below, I cover the most important aspects from my perspective.
1. Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit
The DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit from Nanolash includes both the cluster lashes and other products I mentioned above for styling eyelashes. In total, Nanolash DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit contains 36 lash clusters (10, 12 and 14 mm), a bonder and a sealer (2 x 5 ml each), an applicator and a remover (1 x 5 ml). A big plus for that.
Everything came nicely organized and labeled, too. This made it much easier for me to perform the application. From the perspective of someone who was doing it for the first time, it was definitely a big advantage. The cluster lashes from Nanolash are very soft and look beautiful. The applicator is comfortable and the glue has a great consistency. Everything translated into the fact that it took me less than 10 minutes to apply the lashes.
The lash extension starter kit from Nanolash was enough for 4 full applications, which is another advantage. I should add that the DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit is available with lashes in eight different styles called CHARM, INNOCENT, or HEARTBREAKER, among others. In my case, the lashes lasted 8 full days.
They are really durable.
2. Glamnetic Lash Extension Kit
At first glance, it might seem that this is a pretty similar lash-styling kit. The Glamnetic brand, like the previous one, provides not only the basic products like a Bonder, Sealer, and an applicator, but also a Remover in addition to the cluster lashes. I was easier to remove the lashes thanks to this. In addition, the eyelash clusters came in many styles to choose from.
However, that’s about it for the similarities. The clusters did not look as good live as they did in photos online. So after I put them on, I felt quite uncomfortable. Maybe the lash look didn’t look bad, but that was my impression. Because of all this, although by design these lashes should last up to 5 days, I took them off after just 2 days. I will certainly not try them again, and I will not encourage you to do it either.
3. KISS Falscara Starter Kit
The kit from Kiss is one of those that can be bought in regular drugstores. However, it has one major downside – it contains only 10 cluster lashes. In addition, the Falscara Starter Kit includes only two products – BOND and SEAL, and its price is similar to the previous two kits. Fortunately, the lashes looked quite nice, and on top of that, applying them went quite smoothly.
The manufacturer assures that you can wear them longer. They should last for up to 10 days continuously. The important fact is that they are reusable. By design, the clusters can be used up to 3 times. There is only a condition – in order to wear them continuously for so long and to make them usable later, you need to protect them overnight with a special formula. This is the so-called OVERNIGHTER Long Wear Sealer. Everything would be fine, if it weren’t for the fact that the lash extension starter kit from Kiss doesn’t include it.
4. Lashify Starter Kit
When I mentioned at the beginning that some lash-styling starter kits come with a hefty price tag, I was mainly referring to the one from Lashify. It cost me a lot more than the others kits in the ranking. Unfortunately, this does not translate into the number of products you get. The Lashify Starter Kit contains only 10 lash clusters. For me, this was enough for just one lash look.
There is no denying that this is a professional lash extension kit with a very high quality. The lashes included are light as a feather and soft. That made them look perfect on my eyes. Applying them was also sensational, which gave me a very positive impression of this kit. However, I have to admit that the cluster lashes from the Nanolash brand were of comparable quality and didn’t cost as much. In the case of Lashify, I felt that I had overpaid.
5. Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit
The last at-home lash extension kit in this ranking costs as much as most similar products on the market. The Tatti Lashes Invisi-Lash Kit can last for several applications (from 4 to 8). I, so far, have used it three times and I still have a lot of clusters left.
The DIY lash extension kit from Tatti Lashes is available with a clear or black strip. I chose the No. 2 solution, which is recommended for people with dark lashes like mine. In addition, the brand provides one of the 7 available lash styles, an applicator, a brush, Invisi-Lash Bond, and Seal Glue in the starter kit. I rate both the application method and the durability quite well, although it’s not a lash kit that I would commit to long-term.
Which lash extension kit was a game-changer for me? Ranking summary
Because I tested as many as 5 products, I can now recommend to you an at-home eyelash extension kit that worked perfectly for me, and I hope it will work the same for you. As you can guess, I’m referring to the sensational DIY Eyelash Extensions Starter Kit by Nanolash.
What sets it apart is its excellent quality/price ratio, which unfortunately can’t be said about some products that produced nice results, but their price was exorbitant. However, remember that this is my subjective opinion, so your impressions may be different. I leave it up to you to choose which set to bet on when you want to enhance your natural lashes.
